Turkish citizenship: document packs, translations and interview support

Turkish citizenship is granted by decision of the Ministry of Interior or the Presidency under the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901 and its Regulation. The application is made by you, in person, at the Provincial Directorate of Civil Registration and Citizenship (İl Nüfus ve Vatandaşlık Müdürlüğü) or, for investors, through the joint office with the Directorate of Migration Management. What we do is the part that is yours to prepare: the document list for your route, the civil records and criminal-record certificates from abroad with apostille, sworn translations, biometric photographs, the order in which everything is obtained, and a sworn interpreter beside you at the interview.

Why the pack matters

Most delays are document delays. A criminal-record certificate older than the accepted period, a marriage certificate without apostille, a translation by a translator not sworn at the notary who certified it — each sends the file back. We check each document against the current NVİ list before the appointment.
Order is everything. Apostille abroad before translation in Türkiye; valuation before the tapu annotation; DAB on the day of the transfer; bank letter after the three-year block is registered. We give you the sequence in writing.
The interview is in Turkish. A sworn interpreter is accepted by the commission. We prepare you by going through your own file — dates, addresses, names — so your answers match your documents. We do not script answers.
We say what we cannot do. No promise of outcome, no contact with officials, no "fast" anything. If someone offers you that, read our standard and ask them for the legal basis.

Questions

Can you get my citizenship approved?

No, and nobody outside the Ministry can. We prepare the documents you must submit, in the right order and with the right certifications, and we interpret at the interview. The decision is the state's and takes the time the state takes.

Does the investment route still exist in 2026, and what are the amounts?

Yes, under art. 12 of Law 5901 and art. 20 of the Regulation on the Implementation of the Turkish Citizenship Law. The current thresholds are listed on the investment page with the regulation reference; the main ones are property worth USD 400,000 with a three-year no-sale annotation and a bank deposit of USD 500,000 blocked for three years. Amounts are changed by Presidential Decision; we show the figure and the source, and you check it on mevzuat.gov.tr on the day you invest.

Do I need a lawyer?

For the document pack, no. For deciding whether you qualify, for a refused or stalled file, for anything contested — yes, and you retain the lawyer directly. We do not refer for a fee and we receive nothing from any lawyer.

What does the state charge?

Citizenship applications carry fees set by the state and paid by you at the tax office or through the authority's payment reference; the authority also charges for the identity card after approval. We list the current items on each page and link to the official source; we never collect state fees.
