Corporate bank account in Türkiye for a foreign-owned company

Registering the company takes three weeks. Getting a bank to open an account for it is where foreign founders lose three months. The bank decides and contracts with you; what we do is make sure you walk into the right branch, with the right pack, able to answer the questions the KYC officer will actually ask — with a sworn interpreter next to you.

Pilot prices, valid until 31.12.2026, incl. KDV. Included in the Desk Start tier for new companies in the first year. A second or third bank at ₺7,500 is common and sensible: Turkish banks close accounts as readily as they open them.

How it works

1

Company profile

Activity, countries, counterparties, expected flows, founders' nationalities and residence status. Thirty minutes with the founder, in your language.

2

Bank shortlist

Which banks have actually opened for your nationality and sector in recent months, and at which branches — from logged outcomes, not brochures. Usually two candidates, ranked.

3

Pack and rehearsal

Full document pack assembled and indexed; translations and notarisations through our document chain. A rehearsal of the KYC interview: the questions, the answers, what not to say.

4

Branch, follow-up, setup

Appointment booked; we accompany with a sworn interpreter. Bank's follow-up questions answered within a day. After approval: internet banking, cards, FX permissions, e-Fatura link to your SMMM.

Standard document pack

  • Trade registry gazette (ticaret sicil gazetesi) and activity certificate (faaliyet belgesi), recent
  • Signature circular (imza sirküleri) — notarised
  • Tax plate (vergi levhası) and lease or title for the registered address
  • Passports and tax numbers of all signatories and ultimate owners; residence permits where held
  • Ownership chart to natural persons; for corporate shareholders: apostilled, translated registry extracts
  • Business plan one-pager and counterparty list
  • Sample contracts, proformas or invoices with the named counterparties
  • Source-of-capital evidence for the share capital
  • Utility bill or similar for each signatory's address

What can go wrong

  • Wrong branch. Head-office policy says yes; the branch manager says no. Branch choice is part of the shortlist.
  • Counterparties in countries the bank's correspondent will not touch. Better to know before applying; we flag it at step 1.
  • A founder who cannot explain the business. The KYC interview is a conversation, not a form. Rehearse.
  • Mismatched documents. Address on the lease differs from the registry; signatory's name spelled differently in the circular and passport. We reconcile before the appointment.
  • Silent refusal. Weeks of "under review". We chase on a schedule and, after a defined period, move to the second bank at the reduced fee.
  • Account opened, then frozen on the first incoming payment. That is the next service: bank compliance reply.

Timeline

Profile and shortlist: 2 business days. Pack: 3–7 business days depending on translations. Branch appointment: within a week. Bank's decision: from same day to four weeks; we tell you the recent average for the bank chosen.

Questions

Can you promise the bank will open the account?

No. Banks decide under their own risk policies and may refuse without reasons. What we change is the odds: the right bank for your nationality and sector, a complete pack, a founder who can answer the KYC officer's questions clearly. If the first bank refuses, the second attempt is at the reduced fee.

Why does the bank care about my counterparties?

Turkish banks screen the countries, goods and parties you will send money to and receive it from, under MASAK rules and their correspondent banks' requirements. A company that cannot name its counterparties looks like a shell. The one-page business plan and counterparty list in the pack exist for this reason.

Do I need a residence permit to open a corporate account?

Not by law, but many branches ask the signatory for a permit or at least a Turkish tax number and a local address. Some banks open on a passport plus tax number for the company's signatory; our shortlist reflects what each bank actually did in recent months.

Do you hold our internet banking access or move money?

Never. We do not hold credentials, tokens or cards, and we do not execute or receive payments for clients. That would be a payment service under Law 6493, which we are not licensed for and do not want to be.
